Gather...The Place To Be

My friend Deanna owns and runs the charming shop
 called Gather in Ivoryton, CT.

Inside and out...the shop is crammed full of wonderful treasures...
antiques, vintage items, clothes, furniture, gifts, and treats.

It is truly a place that the community gathers...
shares a cup of coffee, comes after school for a piece of candy,
picks up a delicious bread or croissant, finds a special gift
 or an amazing vintage treasure.

I loved this vintage wedding gown.
Look at that tulle...

One of the many elephants in the shop...
Ivoryton is famous for their production of piano keys, pianos...
and the importing of tusks back in the early 20th century.

Deanna loves clocks...

...and is a big fan of vintage fans...

You name it...
...she has it in her shop.

Beyond the tower of fans...
...you can see one of Deanna's young customers
chatting with her while she buys her penny candy.
Paula is addicted to the delicious caramels she sells.
I prefer the chocolate croissants :)

Deanna and her shop Gather are winners for sure!
You must check it out for yourself...
I'm sure you won't leave empty handed.

Paula and I each found some treasures.
Can you guess what we took home?
:)

Oh Laura, thank you for introducing us to Gather. It was everything you said it would be and more. Did you see the darling little wedding shoes that were sitting behind that sweet wedding gown? They were divine. I can just imagine the lucky bride who wore the shoes and dress on her very special day. I can't wait to see what treasure you and Paula chose on your visit. And I so agree with Paula on those caramels. They are heaven in a wrapper.

Smiles,

Carol

I can't believe I happened upon your blog today for the first time. I love it! And I am so excited to read about Gather. My daughter has been going to camp (first as a camper and now as an employee) in Ivoryton for 14 years! When we lived on the east coast we spent many happy summer weekends in Ivoryton. Back then this was the general store in town and we loved it. I was so sad to hear it had closed awhile back. I am thrilled to see it has reopened and I am now trying to figure out if there is any way I could pay a visit to my daughter - and this wonderful shop! - this summer. Thanks so much for bringing back so many happy memories!

I would have been eyeing that vintage dress too but sadly no prom to go to:(

Deanna's shop is amazing, now I just need a rainy day and a day off to go there.
Don't worry you're secret is safe with me.

Is this printers cabinet that you purchased? It looks very interesting. I could see you owning this, as a place for all your small wonders.
